Hand-hewn logs and weathered barnwood add instant character to the vaulted living room in this new house. This charming house has three bedrooms, with the master suite on the main floor. A vaulted ceiling in the great room makes this 2300 square foot house seem much larger. A wrap-around porch features a stacked stone outdoor fireplace as well as a large screened-in porch. The kitchen and dining room are open to the living room, and the laundry room and powder room are just off the kitchen. The use of antique building materials, from weathered barnwood to reclaimed heart pine, and from tobacco poles and hand-hewn beams and posts, make this new home seem it has been here forever. This is one of our most popular plans, and a smaller version of 1800 square feet is also available.
The tobacco pole hand rail is as sturdy as it is interesting, and worn smooth from years and years of use.
Stainless steel is an interesting contrast to the hand-hewn posts and beams in this open kitchen.
